The practice books I always wanted to hand my students.

I'm Irfan Türk, PhD. I have taught mathematics in American and Turkish classrooms, and today I teach privately in Germany. These workbooks come out of those lessons.

Radical Mastery — From Foundations to Infinity

Algebra 2 · Precalculus · Digital SAT

The core Algebra 2 radical unit — definition, operations, simplifying, rationalizing, radical equations, extraneous solutions, radical functions and their domains. Then seven sections past where the syllabus stops: nested radicals, denesting in a single step, and infinite nested radicals that collapse into whole numbers.

Radical Foundations

Algebra 2 · Digital SAT

The radical unit as it is taught, and nothing beyond it — the first two parts of Radical Mastery, eight sections. For a teacher or parent who needs the unit covered and will not get to nested radicals this year. Radical Mastery is this book plus two advanced parts.

Factoring Without Guessing

Algebra 1 · Algebra 2

Factoring as a procedure instead of trial and error: common factors, sign flipping, grouping, the cross method, special patterns, and the disguised forms that hide a factorable expression behind something else.

Quadratic Equations

Algebra 2

Zero product, completing the square, deriving the formula, and the discriminant. Then the part most books skip: answers without solving, using Vieta's relationships and symmetric expressions — and equations in disguise, where a substitution turns radical, absolute-value and rational equations into quadratics.

16 numbered shortcuts · 111 worked examples · 90 practice problems

Every answer key entry explains why, not just what — and every answer is checked by computer algebra before it goes in.

Practical MATLAB — Modeling, Simulation, Processing

Apress · 2019

A hands-on route through MATLAB for engineers, scientists and students: the language itself, then modeling, simulation, and signal and image processing, built around problems rather than syntax tours.

Who writes these

Six years teaching mathematics to students from fifth through twelfth grade in American schools, including time as mathematics department head and in school administration. Mathematics and programming at high schools and universities in Türkiye. In Germany, where I now live and write, I have been teaching mathematics and English privately and have volunteered teaching Python. Three school systems, three sets of expectations, one subject — that comparison shapes every page.

What I try to put into every workbook: not more problems, but the right problems, in the right order.
